Vietnam crushes New Zealand in AVC Nations Cup 2025

Vietnam national volleyball team started their AVC Nations Cup 2025 campaign with a convincing victory — defeating New Zealand in Group D match at Isa bin Rashid Hall, Manama, Bahrain.

Nguyen Van Quoc Duy shined as outside hitter by scoring 16 points through attacks — leading his team to a straight set victory with score 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-15).

This victory advanced Vietnam to quarter-finals, while New Zealand coached by Moreno Sebastian Antonio Gonzalez was eliminated after suffering two consecutive losses — previously falling to Korea.

Similar fate befell Philippines team in Group C — failing to advance to last eight after losses to Pakistan and Taiwan, despite preparing for FIVB World Championship 2025.
