RRQ Valorant Becomes First Indonesian Team to Secure VCT Masters Toronto Slot

RRQ Valorant has finally secured their position as the second pacific team to lock in a slot at the VCT Masters Toronto after defeating DRX in the upper bracket of the VCT Pacific 2025: Stage 1 yesterday afternoon (April 27).

Prior to that bout, most VCT viewers and pundits tipped RRQ as the winner, considering DRX had recently lost their ace player, Cho “Flashback” Min-hyuk, from their regular roster. However, DRX unexpectedly delivered an intense and fierce fight.

Game 1 on Fracture began with an explosive performance from DRX, who dominated the first half convincingly. RRQ retaliated in the second half, but DRX overcame RRQ’s defensive strategies, resulting in a narrow 11-13 loss for RRQ on the map.

The Indonesian King struck back ruthlessly in Game 2 on Icebox. Their duelist, Maksim “Jemkin” Batorov, dominated the game with Jett, securing 21 kills and swiftly closing out round after round. In just under 40 minutes, RRQ leveled the score with a massive 13-4 victory.

Both teams ramped up the intensity in the decisive Game 3 on Lotus. RRQ dominated early, but DRX quickly tied the score in the second half, forcing overtime. And once again, Jemkin shone as the difference-maker, clinching the final two rounds to close the match 14-12.

With this 2-1 victory, RRQ advances to the upper bracket final and secures their first-ever Masters ticket. They could potentially become Indonesia’s sole representative in the tournament if their compatriot, Boom Esports, fails to reach the lower bracket final next Sunday.
