Mohammed Yaqoob leads Bahrain squad in AVC Nations Cup 2025

Bahrain national volleyball team has announced their 14-player squad for the AVC Nations Cup 2025, scheduled to take place in their country from June 17-24.

Mohammed Yaqoob — a player with experience in Korean Volleyball League with Uljeongbu KB Insurance Stars — stands out as the key figure in Bahrain’s squad.

As the host nation of the tournament previously known as AVC Challenge Cup, Bahrain is determined to improve upon last year’s seventh-place finish. The team previously achieved runner-up status in the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup after losing to Thailand in the final.

In this year’s competition format, Bahrain is placed in Group A alongside Indonesia and Thailand — a situation that promises exciting matches in the group stage.

Mohammed Yaqoob himself holds an impressive record — he was twice selected as Asia’s best outside hitter while leading Bahrain to runner-up position in 2023 AVC Challenge Cup and third place in 2022 Asian Cup.
