16 Inter and AC Milan Ultras Sentenced to Prison for Mafia Involvement

An Italian court has sentenced 16 Inter Milan and AC Milan ultra supporters to prison terms ranging from 2 to 10 years — for crimes involving murder, extortion, and criminal ties to the ‘Ndrangheta mafia.

Andrea Beretta, former Inter Milan ultras leader, received a 10-year sentence after confessing to the murder of Antonio Bellocco — a prominent ‘Ndrangheta figure. Meanwhile, Luca Lucci, influential AC Milan ultras leader, was handed 10 years plus 4 years probation for criminal association and attempted murder.

The fast-track trial took place in a high-security court attached to Milan’s San Vittore prison. Around 200 AC Milan supporters demonstrated outside the court in solidarity with fellow ultras.

The judge ordered immediate compensation of €50,000 payable to Inter and Milan, plus €20,000 to Serie A. According to prosecutors, these ultras acted as “private militias” with extensive criminal influence — including operating ticket scams and extortion around San Siro stadium.

“The prosecution’s charges are just a house of cards,” stated defense lawyers at trial’s end.
