Manchester United announces ticket price hike, supporters protest strongly

Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST) strongly condemns the club’s policy introducing a new ticket categorization system — a move that will increase costs by more than 50% for around 20,000 supporters per match.

The new system divides Premier League matches into three categories, with highest prices between £59 and £97 for category A games — including matches against Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Newcastle.

“After last season, we hoped the club would reconsider plans for this new ticket model. This is truly a heavy blow for Manchester United supporters,” stated the MUST spokesperson.

While the club claims to have consulted with the Fan Advisory Board (FAB), MUST argues there was no adequate discussion with supporter representative groups. Meanwhile, the club insists price increases are necessary to strengthen financial position and team competitiveness.

“These ticketing decisions only push loyal supporters away and risk making younger generations — who are the future of the club — unable to afford tickets,” added the MUST spokesperson.
