Leclerc Reveals Frustration After P5 Finish at Canadian GP

Charles Leclerc completed the Canadian GP in fifth position — reflecting a challenging weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

The Ferrari driver faced a series of setbacks — beginning with an FP1 crash that resulted in chassis damage and forced him to miss the second practice session.

“We are a little bit on the back foot, but that’s more to do with the starting position than the actual pace, because the pace wasn’t too bad,” Leclerc stated.

Problems continued during qualifying when Leclerc only managed P8 — far from his pole position ambitions due to dirty air interference from Isack Hadjar’s car ahead.

Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur addressed Leclerc’s strategy concerns — explaining that the plan for a 50-lap stint on one set of tires was too optimistic.

“I discussed it with Charles after the race. He’s right that we don’t have that much to lose when you are behind the pack. We can take some risks,” Vasseur explained.

Despite facing various challenges, Leclerc remained focused on improvement — emphasizing that his team isn’t trying to prove anything to anyone, but rather simply doing their best.
