Hugo Lloris expresses joy over Tottenham’s Europa League success

Hugo Lloris, former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, has expressed his pride in his old club’s Europa League triumph — their first trophy after a 17-year wait.

The 38-year-old keeper, now representing Los Angeles FC — who will face Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup next week — stated that the 1-0 victory over Manchester United in Bilbao marked a crucial moment for the club.

“I am really pleased for the club, for the people at the club, and for the players. We chased this trophy for many years and finally they got it,” Lloris stated.

Despite securing the Europa League trophy, poor Premier League performance ending in 17th place led to a coaching change — Ange Postecoglou replaced by Thomas Frank.

  • Lloris praised Postecoglou’s achievement in bringing the trophy
  • Acknowledged difficult season with numerous injuries
  • Highlighted team’s focus on Europa League in second half of season

After 447 appearances over 11 years with Spurs, Lloris continues to follow the club’s progress despite moving to the United States last February.
