Daniel Suarez Receives Warm Welcome at NASCAR Mexico Race

Daniel Suarez, the sole Mexican driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, has become the center of attention at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez — where NASCAR racing takes place this weekend.

Driving the No. 99 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing Team, Suarez is surrounded by local media enthusiasm and fans who constantly follow his every move in the paddock.

“It’s very hard to put into words. Every expectation I had about fan and media enthusiasm has been exceeded. I feel like I’m living a dream,” Suarez expressed.

The driver, who now holds dual American-Mexican citizenship, wears a helmet with a special design to celebrate this historic moment. At every corner of the circuit, fans gather in crowds requesting photos and autographs.

  • Andres Perez De Lara is the only other Mexican driver competing full-time in NASCAR
  • De Lara currently races in the Truck Series

“This is very important to continue growing diversity in the sport. We need more people from Mexico and Latinos — not just drivers, but across the board,” added Suarez.
