Chelsea have opened discussions with Lyon regarding talented winger Malick Fofana, according to L’Equipe. The 20-year-old prospect — who contributed to nine goals in 29 Ligue 1 matches last season — is valued at approximately €50 million.

The Blues view Fofana as an alternative after hitting obstacles in their pursuit of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund. Arsenal are also reportedly monitoring the Dortmund youngster’s situation.
