Kluivert remains optimistic about Indonesia’s World Cup 2026 chances

Indonesia national team coach Patrick Kluivert — remains optimistic about securing second place in Group C of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Asian Zone.

The Garuda squad currently sits fourth in the standings with nine points — trailing Australia in second place by four points.

Two remaining matches will determine Indonesia’s fate in this competition:

• Against Japan
• Against China

“We haven’t given up on improving our position. There are always opportunities that must be seized in our current situation,” said Kluivert.

With the qualification system only allowing two teams to advance directly to the 2026 World Cup — Indonesia needs maximum results from their final two matches to realize this ambition.
