Real Madrid Target Trent Alexander-Arnold This Summer

According to ESPN, Real Madrid are planning to bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer — the Spanish club is set to open talks with Liverpool for an early release.

Liverpool have confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will leave the club when his contract expires on June 30, 2025. Real Madrid are optimistic about signing the England international defender on a free transfer, with contract negotiations nearly complete.

Los Blancos were previously interested in signing the 26-year-old back in January after Dani Carvajal suffered a long-term knee injury, but Liverpool rejected the approach at the time.

Real Madrid’s group stage fixtures at the 2025 Club World Cup:

“I feel it’s time for a new challenge, something different for me both as a player and as a person,” said Alexander-Arnold, who has spent 20 years of his career at Anfield.
