Persib implements heavy fines for players gaining weight after Eid holiday

Several Liga 1 2024-2025 clubs — including Persib Bandung and Persebaya Surabaya — are implementing strict policies regarding player weight during the Eid holiday break.

Persib coach Bojan Hodak announced financial sanctions for players who fail to maintain their weight during the competition break period. The policy, which began in mid-March, establishes a fine of 2000 US dollars or approximately 32 million rupiah for each kilogram of weight gain.

“Additional holiday, first training on the 21st (March),” stated Hodak after the match against Semen Padang. “The most important thing is maintaining weight.”

These strict regulations are enforced to ensure players maintain optimal physical condition — despite enjoying the competition break and Eid celebrations.
