Inzaghi Admits Inter Milan Can’t Control Their Own Serie A Destiny

According to Bolasport.com, head coach Simone Inzaghi has acknowledged the harsh reality of Inter Milan’s situation in the Serie A title race this season.

I Nerazzurri now sit on 77 points, just one point behind league leaders Napoli. The title race tightened after Inter’s 2-0 win over Torino, while Napoli dropped crucial points in a 2-2 draw against Genoa.

Remaining matches not enough to decide title fate

Despite closing the gap, Inzaghi admitted that his team no longer has full control over their destiny. Even if Inter win their final two matches against Lazio and Como, it will be meaningless unless Napoli drop more points.

We can only focus on what we can control,” said Inzaghi. “But we’re aware that it might not be enough if Napoli stay consistent.”

European glory a more realistic target now

With domestic hopes dimming, Inter Milan may have a clearer shot at European glory. The club is set to face PSG in the UEFA Champions League final in Munich in two weeks’ time — a massive opportunity for silverware and redemption.
