Inter Miami Tersingkir Usai Kalah 1-3 dari Vancouver

Inter Miami CF suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup semifinal at Chase Stadium, resulting in a 5-1 aggregate win for the Canadian side.

Head coach Javier Mascherano expressed his disappointment after the match.

“It hurts because we wanted to reach the final, which would place the club in a very important position — but we must admit they played better,” said Mascherano.

Although Inter Miami took the lead in the ninth minute, Vancouver capitalized on defensive errors to score three times in Fort Lauderdale.

“We only needed one goal to equalize on aggregate and tried to stretch the game. The hardest part was done with the first goal — but this is football. A few mistakes against a good team in a semifinal can be very costly,” he added.

After competing in two tournaments over the past two and a half months, Inter Miami will now shift focus to the Major League Soccer season before participating in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
