Indonesia hosts Bahrain as Japan secures 2026 World Cup spot

According to the AFC official website, Matchday 8 of the AFC World Cup 2026 Qualifiers Group C will take place today, with the Indonesia national team hosting Bahrain.

Meanwhile, the Japan national team, under Hajime Moriyasu’s guidance, has already secured its place in the 2026 World Cup—becoming the first team to qualify from Group C.

“After easily securing their eighth World Cup appearance, it will be a relaxed affair for Japan to welcome Saudi Arabia at Saitama Stadium,” the AFC stated on its official website.

Despite their qualification, Wataru Endo and his teammates remain determined to win all ten of their qualification matches. Meanwhile, Hervé Renard’s Saudi Arabia continues its fierce battle for the runner-up spot, making their clash with Japan a crucial encounter.
