Ferry Paulus Reveals Solution to Address Liga 1 Player Salary Issues

Salary Delays Continue to Plague Liga 1 in 2024/2025 Season

Ferry Paulus, Managing Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), announced that the league operator will step in to support clubs in addressing player salary delays ahead of the next season.

Despite nearing the end of the 2024/2025 campaign with only four matches left, recurring salary issues continue to impact the league’s reputation.

PSIS Semarang and PSM Makassar Among Affected Clubs

PSIS Semarang has come under scrutiny, especially after foreign player Evandra Brandao terminated his contract in March over unpaid wages.

Meanwhile, PSM Makassar has also reported similar financial troubles, reflecting a broader concern among Liga 1 clubs.

LIB’s Strategy to Prevent Future Salary Crises

Ferry Paulus emphasized that LIB plans to implement stricter financial regulations and possibly offer administrative support to ensure players are paid on time — a necessary step to preserve the league’s credibility and competitiveness.
