Erick Thohir Confirms Indra Sjafri Still Holds Role at PSSI

PSSI chairman, Erick Thohir, has confirmed that Indra Sjafri still holds an important role within the Indonesian football federation, even though he no longer serves as a coach for the national team.

Before this change, Indra Sjafri served as PSSI Technical Director and also coached the Indonesia U-23 national team. His most notable achievement was leading the team to win the SEA Games gold medal two years ago.

Earlier this year, PSSI assigned Sjafri to take charge of the Indonesia U-20 national team, but the team failed to qualify for the U-20 World Cup set for next year. The federation later decided to replace him as head coach, appointing Gerald Vanenburg to lead the Indonesia U-23 team.
