Zrinjski vs Slovan: UEFA Champions League Prediction (30.07.2025)

In the early hours of Wednesday, July 30, at 02:00 WIB, local club HŠK Zrinjski will host Slovan Bratislava at the Pod Bijelim Brijegom Stadium in Mostar for the second leg of the 2025–2026 UEFA Champions League qualifying round. There is little doubt about which team will advance, as the Slovak side earned a confident 4-0 victory at home in the first leg.

Bookmakers offer fairly even odds for the return leg between Zrinjski and Slovan. A win for the “Noblemen” in regular time is priced at 2.70, a draw at 3.32, and a win for the “Sky Blues” at 2.62. However, the odds for the home side to qualify for the next round are a sky-high 32.00, while no bets are being accepted for Slovan’s qualification. A moderate-scoring match is expected, with over 2.5 goals offered at 1.88, and both teams to score at 1.67.

Zrinjski

Led by Croatian coach Mario Ivanković, Zrinjski is a modest side that struggles to compete even at the Eastern European level. While they show high scoring stats in the Bosnian Premier League, their players clearly lacked the technical skill needed in the second Champions League qualifying round. This was especially evident in the first leg in Bratislava, where they failed to register a single shot on target.

Slovan

On the other hand, nearly every attacking player for Vladimir Weiss’s team found the scoresheet. Right winger Tigran Barseghyan, center forward David Strelec, and attacking midfielder Marko Tolić all scored. Ukrainian striker Mykola Kucharevych needed only four minutes after coming off the bench to seal the final score at 4-0. These matches against the Bosnian side mark the beginning of Slovan’s official season, so expecting consistent performance is premature, and the away leg may not be as smooth.

Stats and Head-to-Head Record

Slovan has already faced Zrinjski in summer qualifiers in both 2022 and 2023, advancing both times — but never with the kind of dominance shown in last week’s match. Statistically, Slovan completely dominated the first leg in Bratislava: 59%-41% possession, 8-3 shots toward goal, 6-0 shots on target, and 2-1 corners.

Prediction

The home side has no choice but to play for pride and try to score a goal. This will create more attacking opportunities for the visitors as well, likely leading to an open match. We predict a total of over 2.5 goals at odds of 1.88.
