Zaniolo Involved in Dressing Room Violence Incident after Primavera Match

AS Roma has publicly reported an incident involving Nicolò Zaniolo, currently on loan at Fiorentina from Galatasaray, following the Primavera League semifinal last week.

The match, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Fiorentina U-19, took place at Viola Park, with Zaniolo watching from the stands.

Zaniolo Allegedly Entered Roma Locker Room after Match

In an official club statement, Roma claimed that Zaniolo entered their youth team’s dressing room after the final whistle and allegedly got into a physical confrontation — reportedly striking two Roma youth players.

Zaniolo Denies Aggression, Offers Clarification

Responding to the allegations, Zaniolo, 25, released his own version of events:

“I went down to the locker room to congratulate the Fiorentina players and then to the Roma locker room to greet them, but they started insulting me. To avoid the situation escalating, I decided to leave.”

Zaniolo’s Future Remains Unclear

Zaniolo joined Fiorentina in February 2025 after short spells with Aston Villa and Atalanta. The club holds an option to sign him permanently at the end of the current season.

The incident is currently under internal review by both Roma and Fiorentina, and further disciplinary measures could follow if misconduct is confirmed.
