Zak Brown Leaves Monaco to Pursue McLaren’s Triple Crown Ambition

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, wasted no time celebrating after Lando Norris’s stunning victory at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. Instead, he quickly jetted off to the United States to support McLaren’s efforts in the Indianapolis 500, signaling his determination to fulfill the team’s Triple Crown ambition.

Monaco Glory Ends 17-Year Wait

McLaren’s win in Monte Carlo marked their first at the famed street circuit in 17 years, increasing their record to 16 total victories in Monaco. Despite admitting he’s not yet 100% confident with his car, Lando Norris managed to beat teammate Oscar Piastri, closing the championship points gap between them to just three points.

Zak Brown’s Shift from Monaco to Indy

Historically, Zak Brown has favored attending the Indy 500 over the Monaco Grand Prix. But McLaren’s form this season changed that. Although he arrived late to Indianapolis — where Pato O’Ward secured a strong fourth-place finish — Brown’s priorities are now clearly focused on bigger ambitions.

Le Mans: The Final Piece of McLaren’s Legacy

The next target on Zak Brown’s Triple Crown checklist is the 24 Hours of Le Mans. McLaren has officially confirmed plans to return to Le Mans in two years with an LMDh hypercar, aiming to become the first constructor since themselves to conquer Monaco GP, Indy 500, and Le Mans 24h — a feat last completed 30 years ago.

“The Triple Crown is not just a dream — it’s a goal. And we’re closer than ever,” Brown declared.
