Yuran Fernandes Apologizes for Comments on Indonesian Football

PSM Makassar captain Yuran Fernandes issued an official apology via his personal Instagram account — responding to the controversy surrounding his comments about the level and alleged corruption in Indonesian football.

“My statement was entirely made in the context of football. It was never intended to offend Indonesia as a country,” Fernandes wrote.

The Brazilian player clarified that his previous Instagram Story post was an emotional outburst following a high-pressure match, and he asked that the remarks not be interpreted beyond their intended context.

“The statement was an emotional reaction, right after a game full of tension and drama. I’m sure those who watched the match understood why I was so emotional,” he added.
