Yos Sonneveld and Rizal Danyarta Set to Compete at AFC eChampions League Elite 2025

Dutch-Indonesian player Yos Sonneveld and Rizal “Ivander” Danyarta have officially joined Saudi Arabian club Al Gharafa to compete in the historic AFC eChampions League Elite 2025, set to debut this Saturday. This marks the first-ever edition of the competition organized by the Asian Football Confederation.

Al Gharafa, one of the official clubs partnered with Konami for eFootball, will compete in the tournament alongside Saudi rivals Al Nassr, Al Hilal and Al-Ahli Saudi. The event will take place from April 26–28, 2025, coinciding with the final of the AFC Champions League Elite 2025.

The selection of Yos and Ivander comes as no surprise given their stellar track records in European and Southeast Asian eFootball competitions. Yos has previously represented esports divisions of major clubs like Arsenal and Celtic FC, while fostering strong ties with professional players in Indonesia’s football leagues.

Meanwhile, Ivander, known for his stints with Persija Jakarta and Persis Solo, rose to prominence as the top scorer in Thailand’s 2020 eLeague Pro with BG Pathum United. The Central Java-born player specializes in 1v1 competitions, contrasting with Yos’s expertise in cooperative 2v2 or 3v3 formats.
