Yoo Jae-hoon assesses Indonesia’s chances in 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Yoo Jae-hoon, former Indonesian national team goalkeeper coach, has shared his perspective on the fourth round draw of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers Asian zone — Indonesia has been placed in Group B alongside Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

The squad under Patrick Kluivert will begin their campaign soon — the opening match against Saudi Arabia is scheduled for October 8, 2025, followed by a game against Iraq three days later.

The qualification system establishes strict rules — only the group winner secures direct qualification to the final round, while the runner-up must continue their journey in the fifth round.

Yoo Jae-hoon believes Indonesia has potential to surprise Saudi Arabia — however, success against Iraq will heavily depend on the strategy implemented by Patrick Kluivert.
