Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks captain Yeum Hye-seon has expressed her disappointment after Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi decided not to extend her contract with the club for the upcoming season.

The player from Jember, East Java, who spent the last two seasons with Red Sparks, declined a renewal offer from the Korean V-League club.

During her time with Red Sparks, Megawati achieved remarkable success. In her debut season, she helped the team reach the playoffs for the first time in seven years. This season, Red Sparks advanced even further, making it to the final.

In the championship match, Red Sparks, as underdogs, fell short against Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders with a 2-3 aggregate. Statistically, the 25-year-old scored a total of 1,020 points, ranking third among the top scorers in the Korean league.

Her departure leaves a significant gap in the Red Sparks lineup and has drawn attention from volleyball fans in both Indonesia and South Korea.
