Yemen coach Samer Saleh responded after his team suffered a heavy defeat against the Indonesia U-17 national team in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2025 match held at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium.

The Indonesia U-17 national team — who dominated from the start — opened the scoring through Zahaby Gholy in the 15th minute, followed by a second goal from Fadly Alberto in the 25th minute.

Yemen managed to pull one back through Al-Garash‘s penalty kick in the 52nd minute — but Indonesia U-17 national team added two more goals late in the game to secure a 4-1 victory.

In the aftermath of the match, Samer Saleh acknowledged his team’s struggles—citing the early goals conceded as crucial moments that disrupted their game plan.

Despite the defeat, Saleh emphasized the need for his players—to remain focused and build on the positives from their performance, especially their ability to convert the penalty.

With more games ahead in the tournament—Yemen aims to bounce back and improve their performance in the upcoming fixtures.
