Yamaha Prepares V4 Engine Motorcycle for MotoGP 2025

According to Sky Sport MotoGP, Monster Energy Yamaha Team Director Massimo Meregalli revealed positive developments in their new V4 motorcycle targeted for MotoGP 2025.

Yamaha’s new motorcycle — which leaked to the public last year — shows significant progress in developing aerodynamic technology that has become a trend in this prestigious motorcycle racing event.

The transition from inline-4 to V4 configuration represents Yamaha’s strategic move to counter rival dominance — particularly Ducati, which has maximized V4 engine advantages for grip and aerodynamics.

“We will conduct a test next week in Brno,” stated Meregalli.

Although modern aerodynamic components add drag and weight to the motorcycle, Yamaha continues to prepare two development options — maintaining the more rideable inline-4 or switching to the V4 that offers greater power.
