Xtreme Gaming’s Owner Addresses Riyadh Masters 2025 Participation

Yang “Yang” Yiqing, owner of Xtreme Gaming, recently addressed his emotional reaction following his Dota 2 squad’s early elimination from ESL DreamLeague Season 26, particularly regarding their eligibility for the Riyadh Masters 2025.

Earlier, Yang vented his frustration on Telegram after the team’s disappointing performance, stating that squads incapable of competing at the highest level do not deserve to represent China on the big stage. He even hinted at potentially ceding their regional slot to rivals Tidebound.

His comments sparked mixed reactions from Xtreme Gaming fans on Weibo, many of whom argued that the team—still in its “磨合期” (adjustment phase). Yang later clarified on that platform that Xtreme Gaming will not withdraw from the Riyadh Masters regardless of recent results, emphasizing:

“The reasons for the failure at DreamLeague 26 were complex. We will do our best to learn from it.”

With months of preparation ahead until August, Xtreme Gaming aims to rebuild its reputation as a powerhouse in international Dota 2. All eyes will be on star players Wang “Ame” Chunyu and Wilson “Poloson” Koh to lead the team’s resurgence.
