Xepher Reveals Secret Behind Alter Ego’s Management to Reach MPL ID S15 Playoffs

Kenny “Xepher” Deo, the newly appointed coach of Alter Ego, recently shared one of his key training methods to ensure his squad maintains mental resilience as they push toward the playoffs of MPL ID Season 15.

Alter Ego’s journey through the Regular Season has been far from smooth, marked by inconsistent performances week-to-week. At one point, the team even plummeted to seventh place—the elimination zone—during the first half of the season. However, their determination never wavered. By refining strategies and regaining momentum, they clawed their way up to fourth place by Week 8.

With a mixed roster of seasoned veterans and rising talents, maintaining team morale against elite opponents—especially under high-pressure scenarios—has been a unique challenge. For Xepher, this responsibility extends beyond tactical coaching, requiring him to address non-technical aspects of team dynamics as head coach.

Via Dunia Games, the former Dota 2 pro player explained that he tailors his approach to each individual on the squad. He believes this personalized method is crucial for keeping players mentally sharp and focused during the grueling stretch of a long-term competition.

“As a coach, you can’t just handle everyone the same. Each player can’t be treated the same way because each individual is different. Some require more attention, so we (as coaches) must adapt our approach to suit the needs of each player.”

Currently positioned in fourth place, Alter Ego X needs only to hold their ground in the final week to secure their spot in the playoffs. All eyes are now on Xepher’s strategic decisions as the team prepares for a showdown against Bigetron, where they aim to emerge victorious in this prestigious derby.
