World Abilitysports Games 2025 Jakarta cancelled due to government guarantee issues

The World Abilitysports Federation (WAF) announced through its official website the cancellation of the World Abilitysports Games 2025, which was supposed to be held in Jakarta this September.

The sporting event scheduled for September 11-21, 2025 — had to be cancelled due to insufficient guarantees and crucial information from the Indonesian government.

We regretfully announce the cancellation of the World Abilitysport Games 2025 to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Changes in government and policies have made it impossible to continue the organization within the specified timeframe.

The World Abilitysport team shares the disappointment experienced by our members. However, this organization has a responsibility to its membership, athletes and international federations to withdraw from events whose continuity cannot be assured.

NPC Indonesia has made maximum efforts to convince WAF to maintain Indonesia as the host — but the final decision remains unchanged.
