Williams impresses in Canadian GP practice, Albon remains cautious

Referring to Formula 1 Canadian GP practice results, Williams team recorded an impressive showing — Alex Albon finished second in FP1 and fourth in FP2, while Carlos Sainz secured third and seventh positions.

Despite posting positive results after failing to score points in Barcelona, Albon remains cautious in responding to his team’s performance at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

“We hit the ground running positively, but we might be running a different program from other teams in FP1. We’re still experiencing brake issues throughout today — which is very important at this circuit,” Albon stated.

Sainz also highlighted the importance of tire selection strategy for tomorrow’s qualifying.

“This morning we were probably running lighter or in different engine mode. In FP2 we remained competitive, but we’re about three to four tenths behind the fastest cars,” Sainz explained.
