After appearing in a promotional video for Honor of Kings in the Philippines, Naser “Akosi Dogie” Mollazehi and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera duo have been officially announced as part of WeTrnd HoK, which will compete in the Philippines Kings League Fall 2025, starting on August 29.

Dogie and Yawi previously gained attention during an exhibition match at the Esports World Cup 2025, where WeTrnd faced North America’s BloodThirstyKing. They hinted at future competitive plans after the event concluded.

WeTrnd Honor of Kings

Today, WeTrnd confirmed its roster and participation in PKL Fall 2025 through its official social media. However, contrary to earlier expectations, Dogie and Yawi will serve as part of the coaching staff rather than as core players.

Their social media post informs that Dogie will be the team’s lead analyst, working alongside head coach Eric “Exosen” Gubatan. Yawi will be working along with Dogie in strategy analysis and will also serve as a substitute player when needed.

Regardless their status, WeTrnd has already proven itself as a hot prospect by winning the PKL 2025 Fall Open Qualifier in the Philippines, defeating solid teams like Elevate, Team Nemesis PH, and Barcode.

Old names, new stage

It’s a fact that WeTrnd’s hype around the HoK competitive scene is also boosted by Dogie and Yawi’s popularity from their MLBB esports careers — the most talked figures in the MLBB community.

Dogie is recognized as an MLBB esports analyst and talent scout, having been part of Nexplay Evos from 2019 to early 2023 as both player and coach. On the other hand, Yawi has collected MPL PH and M4 World Championship trophies with Echo (now Team Liquid PH). He later played for Aura Fire (now Team Liquid ID) in Indonesia in just about 10 months, before returning to the Philippines and finished his MLBB journey with TNC Pro.

Additionally, WeTrnd previously brought other former MLBB pros like Renejay “Renejay” Barcase and John “H2WO” Salonga, though only H2WO was confirmed in the official HoK roster announcement.

The upcoming PKL 2025 Fall is definitely one to watch, as WeTrnd will face top dogs such as Boom Esports, Blacklist International, and A.C.T Esports Club. The victor of the tournament will claim a spot in the Kings International Championship 2025, which is scheduled for November in the Philippines.
