VJ Edgecombe selected as 76ers’ third pick in 2025 NBA Draft

Philadelphia 76ers made a crucial decision by selecting Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe as the third pick in the 2025 NBA Draft — a move expected to strengthen their backcourt lineup.

Edgecombe, the 19-year-old player who also represents the Bahamian national team, possesses explosive characteristics that complement All-Star Tyrese Maxey.

“I had no clue what was going on. I was just living in the moment until they told me about 15 seconds before the commissioner called my name,” Edgecombe revealed.

In the same draft, Dallas Mavericks selected Cooper Flagg first overall, while San Antonio Spurs secured Dylan Harper as the second pick. Duke achieved a milestone with three players selected in the first round — including Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach.

Brooklyn Nets utilized their five first-round picks to select Egor Demin, Nolan Traore, Drake Powell, Ben Saraf, and Danny Wolf. History was made when Portland Trail Blazers chose Yang Hansen — making him the third Chinese-born player selected in the first round of the NBA Draft after Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian.
