Team Vitality MLBB Captain Vivi “Vivian” Indrawaty recently voiced concerns about the current state of the female MLBB esports scene, which has been growing at slower pace compared to the mainstream competitive circuit.

In an interview with Revival TV, the 26-year-old roamer thought that Indonesia actually has many talented young female MLBB players. However, they don’t get enough exposure due to a lack of proper local competition opportunities.

She also stressed that it would be wasteful to let the female professional scene go under, especially since Indonesia has a successful National Women’s MLBB Team that competes in international stages.

“Local competitions have decreased in Indonesia. We have promising talents in women’s MLBB, but it would be wasteful if they aren’t being properly developed.

I see tournaments developing more rapidly abroad than here. I want to see the strongest ladies’ team in Indonesia.”

Vivian’s worries are understandable, given the current biggest platform for women’s MLBB esports is just the global WSL competition. In Indonesia, however, there are only less popular third-party tournaments, which aren’t attractive to top teams.

Moonton, the organizer of the MPL circuit, has given a shot to elevate women’s competitions by giving WSL winners a slot in the MDL league – a slot Vitality held last season. Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts and insufficient practice time led to a disappointing debut for The Hive.
