Vinales Shows Surprising Performance in Italian MotoGP Practice

Maverick Vinales delivered a surprising performance by leading the 2025 Italian MotoGP practice session at Mugello Circuit. The Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider set the best time of 1 minute 44.634 seconds — surpassing the Ducati duo in the closing moments.

Intense competition unfolded throughout the 60-minute session, with Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez from Ducati team securing second and third positions. Alex Marquez from Gresini and Fabio Quartararo from Monster Energy Yamaha completed the top five.

MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi was present at Mugello Circuit — observing the practice session while monitoring his Pertamina Enduro VR46 team’s performance.

The session started slowly with Bagnaia setting the first timed lap at 1 minute 47.022 seconds. Vinales then took the lead with 1 minute 45.849 seconds, before ultimately improving his time in the final moments.
