Vietnamese Media Highlights Indonesia U-17’s Heavy Defeat to North Korea

Vietnamese media has highlighted Indonesia U-17 national team’s heavy 0-6 defeat to North Korea in the AFC U-17 Championship 2025 quarterfinals at King Abdullah Sports City Hall Stadium, Jeddah.

The team coached by Nova Arianto previously showed impressive performance in the group stage with perfect nine points. The Young Garuda squad achieved remarkable results by defeating:

• South Korea 1-0
• Yemen 4-1
• Afghanistan 2-0

Indonesia U-17 team led by I Putu Panji Apriawan became the only Southeast Asian representative to qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

However, the heavy quarterfinal defeat has led Vietnamese media to question Indonesia’s readiness for the world tournament scheduled for November.
