Vietnamese media calls Indonesia’s World Cup qualifying group “group of death”

Soha assesses that the Garuda Squad has entered an extremely difficult situation — calling it the “group of death”. The qualification format stipulates that the group winner advances directly to the 2026 World Cup, second place proceeds to the Fifth Round, while the bottom team is eliminated.

“The Indonesian national team is trapped in the Group of Death. The World Cup dream is threatened to crumble,” Soha wrote in their analysis.

Kluivert’s team must work extraordinarily hard — avoiding the bottom position if they want to maintain their chances of qualifying for the prestigious tournament.
