Vietnam U-17 faces tough challenge against Japan in AFC U-17 Cup

The Vietnam U-17 national team, coached by Cristiano Roland, will play their second Group B match of the AFC U-17 Cup 2025 against Japan at Okadh Sport Club Stadium — the game is scheduled for tonight at 22:00 WIB.

In their opening match three days ago, Vietnam had to settle for a 1-1 draw against AustraliaHoang Trong Duy Khang‘s goal in the 49th minute equalized after Australia took the lead through MacNicol in the 41st minute.

Cristiano Roland acknowledges his team will face another challenging match — considering Japan is one of the strong teams in this tournament.

Japan began their Group B campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Qatar—underlining their status as one of the tournament favorites. A win for Vietnam tonight would significantly boost their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages, while a loss could put pressure on their final group match.
