Victor Dethan recovers from injury ahead of crucial ASEAN Cup U-23 matches

According to Bolasport.com, Victor Dethan — Indonesia U-23 national team winger of Canadian descent — begins showing signs of recovery from muscle injury he suffered before ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.

The 21-year-old Kupang native — who was a standout performer at ASEAN Cup 2024 — had to limit his playing time due to muscle issues experienced before the tournament began.

“There’s a minor muscle issue, so he’s currently in recovery. The condition isn’t too serious. We just wanted to avoid the first game to prevent it from getting worse,” stated manager Ahmed Zaki Iskandar.

Dethan was absent when Indonesia defeated Brunei 8-0 on July 15 — but managed to appear as a substitute for 19 minutes in the match against Philippines.
