VFF President can’t sleep after Vietnam’s crushing defeat to Malaysia

Tran Quoc Tuan, President of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), experienced insomnia after his team suffered a heavy defeat against Malaysia at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur — the match ended with a 0-4 score in the Group F of 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

“After the recent defeat to Malaysia, I couldn’t sleep for two nights,” revealed Tran Quoc Tuan.

The VFF President compared this situation to Vietnam’s experience in 2006 — when they were preparing to host the 2007 Asian Cup.

“That feeling is similar to 2006, when we were preparing to host the 2007 Asian Cup. At that time, Vietnam lost half of its squad, but eventually, they reached the quarter-finals. Success comes from sustained international competition,” he added.
