Verstappen Outpaces McLaren Duo for British GP Pole

Max Verstappen claimed British GP pole position after setting the fastest lap time of 1:24.892 — outpacing the McLaren duo who had dominated the qualifying session at Silverstone Circuit.

Oscar Piastri will start from the front row alongside Verstappen, while his teammate Lando Norris secured third position. Home favorite George Russell filled fourth position for Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton had to settle for fifth after making a mistake in the final sector, with Charles Leclerc completing the third row. Two rookie drivers faced different fates — Andrea Kimi Antonelli received a three-position penalty due to an incident in Austria, while Oliver Bearman got a 10-position penalty for a red flag infringement.

The qualifying session was marked by an incident when Franco Colapinto crashed in Q1. The Argentine driver lost control of his car at the final corner — forcing a session stoppage and ending his chances of progressing to the next round.
