Max Verstappen tempers expectations ahead of the Bahrain GP — despite his recent victory at Japan’s Suzuka Circuit.

The championship situation remains incredibly tight — the Dutch driver trails championship leader Lando Norris by just one point, who has accumulated 62 points in the opening three races this season.

Red Bull continues to face challenges with their RB21 car in the 2025 season — a situation that led to rookie driver Liam Lawson being moved to Racing Bulls due to adaptation difficulties.

“The win in Japan was an amazing moment for the Team and a perfect send off for Honda. It gave a good boost to the Team, but Bahrain will be a tough race with night conditions and a very technical track,” stated Verstappen.

“There are still things to improve on the car — we are still working on our tyre management and pace. We need to keep working hard and push the car to its limits,” he added.
