Verrell/Lisa Eliminated in Malaysia Masters Round of 16

Verrell Yustin Mulia/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati saw their Malaysia Masters 2025 journey come to an end in the Round of 16 after losing to seventh seeds Cheng Xing/Zhang Chi of China at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur.

The Indonesian senior-junior duo had a promising start, leading 5-2 and 7-3 early in the match. However, their momentum gradually faded as Cheng/Zhang adjusted and began to anticipate their tactics.

It’s worth noting that Cheng/Zhang were previously defeated by another Indonesian pair — Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu — at the 2025 Badminton Asia Championships.
