As the Serie A season nears its conclusion, Venezia FC finds itself just one point behind Lecce, who currently sit 17th — the last position above the relegation zone. With five matches remaining, the battle for survival intensifies.

Jay Idzes, key defender for both Venezia and the Indonesia national team, remains upbeat despite the pressure.

“We must keep believing because there are still five matches left,” he said, emphasizing team unity and mental resilience during this critical phase.

In their most recent fixture, Venezia played out a 2-2 draw against Empoli, a result that left the team frustrated after letting a potential win slip late in the game.

Empoli opened the scoring through Jacopo Fazzini, but Venezia responded with goals from John Yeboah and Gianluca Busio. Just when the victory seemed within reach, Faustino Anjorin equalized for Empoli in the 87th minute.

Despite the setback, optimism remains within the Venezia camp. With five crucial games ahead, the fight to stay in Serie A is far from over.
