Van Dijk Hints at Liverpool’s Ambitious Summer Transfer Plans

Captain Virgil van Dijk brought Liverpool closer to their 20th league title—after scoring the winning goal against West Ham United  putting his team 13 points clear of Arsenal in second place.

The Dutch defender indicated that Liverpool plans to be active in the upcoming summer transfer window.

“Liverpool should be able to challenge for titles in the coming years — I think they’re planning for a big summer and we must trust the board,” Van Dijk stated.

While his contract expires this summer, Van Dijk is expected to sign a two-year extension — following Mohamed Salah who recently extended his contract until 2027.

Liverpool now needs just six points from their remaining six matches to secure the league title under manager Arne Slot.

Van Dijk, who has been with the club since 2017, expressed his pride in being part of the club — “Wearing the Liverpool jersey and representing this club always makes me proud.”
