Van de Ven criticizes Postecoglou’s dismissal from Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has shared his perspective on manager Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal — a decision he considers strange given recent achievements.

Postecoglou managed to end Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League, but the team’s 17th place position in the Premier League led club management to make a different decision.

“That was ultimately a choice from the club and we as players have little say. Of course, he is the first coach who has brought a trophy and success to Spurs in a long time. So if you look at it that way, it is of course a strange choice,” Van de Ven told Voetbal Zone.

Several teammates including Son Heung-Min, Yves Bissouma, Pedro Porro, Guglielmo Vicario, and Dominic Solanke have also expressed their appreciation for the Australian coach.

Thomas Frank from Brentford is currently the strong candidate to replace Postecoglou as Tottenham Hotspur’s manager.
