Van Basty Sousa joins Persija Jakarta for 2025/2026 season

Van Basty Sousa officially joins Persija Jakarta as a midfielder for Liga 1 2025/2026 season — marking a historic step in his career.

The Brazilian player previously played for Londrina Esporte Clube — his last team in his home country before deciding to move to Indonesia.

The decision to join Macan Kemayoran becomes Sousa’s first experience playing outside Brazil since his promotion to senior team about 13 years ago.

“I had absolutely no doubts when receiving the first contact. I’ve always wanted to pursue an international career,” stated Sousa.
