Valorant 10.09 Patch Arrived with Substantial Nerf for Tejo

The latest Valorant update, Patch 10.09, finally brings significant nerfs to Agent Tejo, who has dominated the meta with his unbalanced and overly aggressive playstyle.

The most impactful adjustment targets his signature ability, Guided Salvo. Previously, players could spam rockets frequently due to their low cost and short cooldown. Now, the ability starts with only one free rocket charge per round, with additional charges costing 150 credits each. The rocket’s effective range has also been reduced from 55 meters to 45 meters, forcing players to strategize more carefully.

Other notable adjustments included the cost of Stealth Drone, which has been increased from 300 to 400 credits. Meanwhile, Special Delivery has received a minor buff, with its cost reduced from 300 to 200 credits.

Lastly, Tejo’s ultimate ability, Armageddon, now requires 9 ultimate points to activate (up from 8), bringing it in line with the average ultimate cost of other agents.

These nerfs address long-standing frustrations among players and professionals, who criticized Tejo’s dominance in nearly every team composition. With an average 60% pick rate in this season’s VCT circuit, Tejo became a staple—most notably popularized by G2 Esports’ Trent “Trent” Cairns. The American one-trick pony propelled G2 to victory at VCT Americas 2025: Stage 1, sparking debates about the agent’s overpowered state.
