Valencia failed to secure a victory when hosting Espanyol in their La Liga 2024-2025 matchday 33 at Mestalla Stadium on Tuesday (22/4).

The match was critical for both teams: Valencia looking to secure their mid-table position, while Espanyol battled to avoid relegation. Javi Puado gave the visitors the lead in the 40th minute, with a precise finish following a well-placed cross.

In the second half, Valencia came out stronger. They dominated possession and created several chances before Javi Guerra equalized in the 57th minute, finishing neatly inside the box to level the score at 1-1.

Both teams pushed for a winner, but solid defending and goalkeeping kept the score unchanged. The match ended 1-1, leaving Valencia comfortably mid-table, while Espanyol remains in danger of relegation and will need to secure more points in their remaining fixtures to avoid the drop.
