USA fails to win CONCACAF Gold Cup without Pulisic

The United States failed to defend their CONCACAF Gold Cup title after being defeated by Mexico in the final match at NRG Stadium, Houston, as reported by Bolasport.com.

The tournament, equivalent to EURO and Copa America, was held across 13 US cities — with Christian Pulisic’s absence being the host team’s main concern.

The AC Milan striker decided to rest after a long season — a decision that drew criticism from coach Mauricio Pochettino.

“Players must listen and follow the plans we make, not act on their own. Pulisic explained why he only wanted to participate in 2 friendly matches in June and not in the Gold Cup,” said Pochettino.
