Tyler Adams to Miss USMNT Friendly Against Switzerland

According to coach Mauricio Pochettino, Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams, will miss the United States friendly match against Switzerland at Geodis Park, Nashville — a minor foot issue being the main cause.

“I hope it’s not a major concern. We will manage it properly, give him a few days rest, and see if he can be ready for the Gold Cup,” said Pochettino.

This injury marks another setback for Adams who has been battling various injuries since the 2022 World Cup. Following last year’s Copa América, the 26-year-old underwent back surgery that kept him sidelined until October.

Pochettino also shared his new perspective on players’ free time:

“My coaching staff and I are the first ones who want players to have free time with their families. What I want is 11 lions or wolves ready to fight on the field.”

The United States national team will begin their Gold Cup journey against Trinidad and Tobago after the Switzerland friendly.
